Continental ExtremeContact DWS All-Season Tire - 225/50R17 94W Review

Bought this tire after EXTENSIVE research on TireRack.com and the Internet from the local Discount Tire store as OEM replacements on our 2008 Honda Accord. These are the VERY BEST high performance all season tires I've ever had on ANY vehicle I've ever owned. I just wish Continental made these in a 60 series tire to put on our other car, a 2005 Outback. I can't say enough about how well these grip in the wet and dry, not to mention light snow. Admittedly, these aren't pure winter tires, but they've done whatever I've called on them to do so far. I'd put their dry performance up against Michelin Pilot Sports any time (and I've owned two other different vehicles which I have paid much more to put those Michelins on).

These are, without a doubt, the BEST ALL SEASON HIGH PERFORMANCE tires I have ever experienced in my life (60+ years) and I've been an early adopter of high performance/radial tires since back in the 1960s!

Odyssey PC680MJT Automotive and LTV Battery Review

What you'll get is a great dry cell with plenty of small-motor cranking amps in a small package. I use this in my Mitsubishi Evo (2 litre turbocharged four cylinder) to pull weight out of the front of the car. Weight savings are on the order of 12-15 lbs over the OEM wet battery. The performance on this battery over the last 3 years has been flawless. I live in Southern California so the weather never gets really cold...YMMV. It always pumps plenty of starting amps when I turn the motor over. I've been very pleased with this item. The battery in the car now is starting to lose cranking power, but it's a graceful degradation. So it's time for a new one. I'll keep coming back to these batteries for this application.

Monroe 271951 Quick-Strut Complete Strut Assembly Review

Bought this and the other strut for the other side (Monroe QuickStrut 271952). Both went on in about 20 minutes; remove bolt holding the brake line to the strut, remove 2x bolts holding strut to steering knuckle, then the 3 bolts up top holding strut in the engine bay, then reverse the process to install the new one..

Installed these on a 98 Toyota Corolla LE with about 230,000 miles on it. A bit of advice:
-you will need WD-40 or the like to penetrate the nuts holding the bolts to the knuckle/strut
-a longer "breaker bar" will help loosen the nuts, as you will need the leverage. I used a 28" long nonratcheting 1/2" driver.

Otherwise, these are dead simple to install. I have heard the rear struts are more difficult to put in..

Ride quality is much improved. My old struts were beyond shot and the car exhibited alot of wheel hop under braking/cornering and shimmy/vibration at highway speeds. These problems are virtually eliminated; no wheel hop and very little shimmy (probably due to my lousy tires).

BTW, I am not a mechanic. Just your average scrawny college educated guy with basic maintenance skills. Good luck!
