Product Description

Skyjacker stabilizers dampen out the harshness of the highway, the shimmy from running the additional weight of larger tires and wheels and places control back into the drivers hands. Stabilizers also reduce the fatigue of the driver on a personal level by reducing the amount of physical strength it takes to guide those larger tires on and off the road. Changing the weak stock unit for a better performing replacement or adding dual steering stabilizers is an inexpensive and worthy investment.

Skyjacker 7219 Steering Stabilizer Dual Kit Review

This kit comes with 2 steering stabilizers (shocks). The first one replaces the factory stabilizer. The second one clamps onto the track bar and tie rod with U bolts.

It did not quite fit my 2005 TJ. The hardware to attach the first stabilizer to the steering assembly didn't fit. The bolt was too thick. I got a grade 8 1/2-13 3.5" bolt from Lowes to replace it. You will also need a metal sleeve to fit inside of the bushing. They only included one sleeve in the kit (for the other end), but I had one from my old stabilizer. 3.5" is actually quite long for the bolt, and you can probably use a 3" if you want a shorter bolt.

For securing the other end of the stabilizer to the frame bracket I used a 1/2-13 2.5" bolt. The bushings gave that end a very tight fit. I had to slightly bend the bracket out to get it in there.

The second stabilizer was easy to install. Just mount the brackets with the U bolts and basically make it look like the picture. This shock has a OAL of 17" closed and 25" extended. You want to make sure that when you tighten the U bolts in place, the shock is exactly 21" long. The will give you the most amount of travel left and right.

Since these shocks will stiffen your steering up, don't turn the steering wheel when you're not moving. You don't want to overwork your power steering. I noticed a big improvement in the stability of my steering. Any little bump used to make my steering wheel jerk to the side. Now it is more stable. I recommend these if you have 35" or larger tires. It's probably overkill for 33" and smaller.

This review sounds long, but actually it only took me about an hour to install.

Schumacher SS-15A3-OB Ship 'N Shore 15 Amps 12V Automatic On-Board 3-Bank Charger Review

Just got this charger recently so I haven't had a lot of time to evaluate it. I like the fact that it is waterproof as some other brands of marine chargers I looked at were not. The charger seems well made and works as advertised. I know some people have taken issue with the fact that the charger switches banks every 5 minutes when charging but this seems a better situation to me than a typical 15 amp, 3 bank charger that only gives each battery 5 amps max. I say this because during the initial charge the batteries will accept the full 15 amps during the five minute sequence and that should help with mixing electrolyte and desulfating the plates, while guarding against heat and boil-over. The Schumacher has true 3 stage (bulk--adsorption--float) charging and the overall charge time seems at least as fast as the typical 15 amp total, 5 amp per bank charger. All in all I am happy with this charger. I have another Schumacher that is over 30 years old and still going strong. While that kind of reliability may be an unrealistic expectation, it makes it all the more likely that this charger will end up being an outstanding value.

Morel Maximo 6 1/2 inch 2 way component system Review

I am extremely happy with my purchase of these components. I have them running off a 460 watt Infinity Reference 4 channel amp and stock head unit, and only have the gain turned up to about 1/3. The sound quality is brilliant, crisp, full, and rich. The sound signature given off by these Morels is consistent with others from the Morel line, in that they sound more warm than bright or tinny, and have strong midrange and mid bass output.

I wanted to remove 1 star because of a lack of tweeter attenuation options (-3db -2db -1db), but other features and the excellent sound put out by these speakers overshadows this minor defect. Still, this feature would allow people who enjoy less highs to easily "turn down" the tweeters without having to rely on the treble and bass settings on their head unit. Overall, it's not a huge hassle, as almost every head unit will have treble and bass controls which will do a good enough job (but not as good as having a better crossover).

I have these installed in a 2011 Scion xB in the factory installation locations. The manual and online literature do not state having OEM install mounting kits, but my installer had 0 problems placing them in the factory locations.

I have demo'd dozens of component sets, and found these to be my favorite by a long shot, in the $100 - 200 range.
