Curt Manufacturing 31432 Front Mount Receiver Review

When I saw the 45 minute installation time on the installation instructions I was skeptical. It took me an hour to get the six fasteners that attach the air deflector removed (not Curt's fault). Not all of the bolts for installing the hitch were long enough. The hitch didn't fit exactly right causing the one of the bolts to be too short. By the time I got done with all the air deflector removal problems and getting the hardware installed it took four hours. I haven't trimmed out the air deflector and gone to get new attachment hardware yet.

Once the hitch was installed, it works great!

The Step Bar looks great on my jeep. I recommend to anyone looking for good quality and great looks at a great price.
My son-in-law was surprised at how heavy they were.
Had to have my husband and son put them on due to the fact that holes aren't pre-drilled. But they are easy enough to install.
On the " I wish side " a little more detailed instructions on installation mounting kit would help. Just a pic of the types of hardware included would be a big help. I think with that anyone would be able to install them.
Don't forget to order the mount kit, this does come separately as stated with product.

Easy to install and no hassle. This was the simplest install ever. Use the fisheye line to pull the plate sand bolts through the frame holes directly over the top side of the frame holes. Back ones are the hardest. Took only 5 minutes for both of those. Use needle-nose pliers to grab the line for the back bolts.

Got this to keep prying eyes away when my topless Jeep is parked, and also to keep stuff in the back, IN the back when on the highway.

When you install it, go slow, it is tight. Better to lay it on a hot driveway first as the sun's heat makes it a bit more pliable.

Also note... this WILL work with soft-top door surrounds ON, and can also stay one with the soft-top raised.

Product docs do not mention it, but many ask, and I run it this way as well.

I don't like many Bestop products, but I do like this one.

Unfortunately I thought I could install without drilling, even though the instructions say its required. I did not want to drill into my frame, so I just used a file and made a slot big enough for the blocks to go in.
A side note about shipping, its a big heavy steel part...so naturally it got dropped and dragged in shipping. The paint on the edges got chipped off, which sucks considering this is at the rear of your vehicle, getting soaked in water every time it rains. Plan ahead and get some Krylon paint to touch it up.
I would definitely recommend this product, Draw-Tite has been #1 in my book for as long as I can remember.
