This is my first scanner so I'm not up on the lingo nor can I compare it to any other scanners. With that said, Its a nice little scanner. It comes with rechargable batteries and the antenna. Programming is quite easy. You can also download the drivers and software for free online so you can plug it into your computer to make programming it even easier. I purchased this as a hobby scanner, and it does exactly what I wanted it to do so I cannot ask for more than that. It feels solid like a quality made product. Nice big digital readout with a backlight and a headphone jack. It also has the abilty to lock out channels on a temporary basis as well as able to scan for nearby signals. The only cons I can give it is they should have included the wall charger along with it. I purchased it seperately. Its a cheap little thing that uses the USB cord that came with the scanner. I use mine to scan for Police, Fire. EMS, and I take it to my local racetrack. Note that before you buy this make sure the signals used in your area are analog as opposed to trunks or this scanner will be useless to you. Do your homework before buying..Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Uniden Bc125at Bearcat Handheld Scanner" are high quality item.
