The clicking and slow responsiveness of my 98 dakota was solved by replacing this linkage assembly. This unit looked like it was fabricated very well and was installed effortlessly. However, because the unit only fits in one way, the chances of needing an alignment is 50/50. I needed one, and brought the vehicle to my local STS store where they aligned everything straight. No more problems with the steering and I feel much safer now that the steering is much more responsive. Some of the other places I contacted for this part were charging in excess of $300. Well worth the money invested!
