I've used the bike rack to carry my road bike over 120 miles now on all types of roads, from an uneven county road to 70 mph on the freeway. Seems very secure. My only real complaint is that although the bike can be locked to the bike holder, the holder itself does not lock to the roof rack. It could have been designed as such with a simple lock cylinder as used to lock the bike to the holder.
