We went on a roadtrip through Mexico, and slept in one of those fold down tents that attach to the roof. (It was a Tepui tent- which are AWESOME BTW). Anyway, we needed these bars to secure the tent on my husband's jeep. We had the tent (which only weighs like 90 pounds, and a couple of trunks full of camping supplies hooked onto these bars, and we went through some gnarly terrain with no problem. We were going to buy them from the Jeep magazine- but they were cheaper here on Amazon, and of course got Prime two day shipping! Thanks Amazon! We made it back from Mexico, and these bars are in perfect condition- I expect to have them for quite some time. PS, my husband works construction and frequently straps all sorts of building material to the top.. so yes, they still get a workout!
